Workation Proof Accommodation
A 4-star hotel next to Stockholm Stadion in the Östermalm district, with easy access to the city centre via T-bana. Home Hotel Tapto has free WiFi and a work desk in every room, and — like all Home Hotels — the nightly rate includes breakfast, afternoon fika, and a dinner buffet, which significantly reduces the daily cost of a workation stay in one of Scandinavia's most expensive cities.
Home Hotel Tapto is a 4-star hotel on Jungfrugatan 57 in the Östermalm district of Stockholm, directly beside Stockholm Stadion and a short walk from the T-bana red line (Stadion station), which connects to Stockholm Central Station in about 5 minutes. The hotel is part of the Strawberry Hotels group and carries the Home Hotel brand concept: every room rate includes a full breakfast buffet, an afternoon fika (coffee and pastry), and a dinner buffet each evening. For a multi-night workation in Stockholm — where food costs are among the highest in Europe — this inclusion makes the effective daily cost considerably more manageable. Every room has a proper work desk, free WiFi, and a television. The hotel also has a 24-hour gym, sauna, and a lobby bar. It scored 4.4 out of 5 on TripAdvisor at time of listing.

Room categories run from Compact Singles at 18 m² (single 105 cm bed) through Standard Doubles at 19–21 m² (160 cm double), Standard Twins at 18–21 m², Superior Doubles and Twins at 22–26 m², Deluxe Doubles at 27–28 m², and a Junior Suite at 42–44 m² (180 cm double bed). All rooms include a work desk and chair, free WiFi, and a kettle for coffee and tea. Room photos show a clean, warm Scandinavian design with natural wood tones. Superior and above categories tend to have more floor space and a sofa area, which makes them more comfortable for longer working stays. The Compact Single is the most affordable entry point but is best suited to short stays; the Standard Double or Superior category is the better choice for a week or more.
The Home Hotel concept is built around generous Nordic hospitality, and meals are its most practical feature. Every overnight stay covers a full buffet breakfast, afternoon fika (coffee and pastry served in the lobby), and a dinner buffet in the hotel's restaurant. Stockholm restaurant prices are high — a main course at a mid-range restaurant typically costs 200–300 SEK — so covering dinner in the room rate saves several hundred krona per day on a longer stay. For lunch and daytime coffee there are plenty of options in Östermalm, with independent cafés and a Saluhall market hall (Östermalms Saluhall) about 10 minutes away on foot.
The hotel's gym is open 24 hours a day and equipped with cardio machines, free weights, and workout machines. Towels are available to borrow. There is also a sauna and a dedicated relax area. Having these facilities available at any hour is genuinely useful when working across different time zones or on a flexible schedule — a morning or late-evening workout without needing to leave the building keeps your routine consistent throughout a longer stay. The gym and sauna are included for all hotel guests.
Östermalm is one of Stockholm's more elegant residential districts — tree-lined streets, embassies, and high-end shops. It is quieter than Södermalm or Norrmalm while still being close to the core of the city. Stockholm Stadion is immediately next to the hotel. Stockholm Central Station is about 5 minutes away by T-bana (red line from Stadion station), connecting you to commuter rail, Arlanda Express, and the rest of the metro network. Gärdet park, one of Stockholm's large open green areas, is walkable (about 500 metres north), and the island of Djurgårdsvägen — home to Skansen, Vasa Museum, and Gröna Lund — is about 15 minutes on foot or one tram stop. The neighbourhood has supermarkets, pharmacies, and cafés all within walking distance.
The hotel is on Jungfrugatan in the Östermalm district, directly beside Stockholm Stadion. Stadion T-bana station (red line) is a 3-minute walk, giving fast connections to Stockholm Central Station (~5 min) and the rest of the metro. The neighbourhood is residential and calm, with Gärdet park to the north, Djurgården to the east, and the main Östermalm shopping and café strip along Strandvägen and Birger Jarlsgatan within walking distance.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) is 42 km north of the city. The most common route is the Arlanda Express direct train from Stockholm Central Station, which takes 18–20 minutes and runs every 15 minutes; a single ticket costs around 299–369 SEK depending on whether you book in advance or pay on board. From the hotel, take the T-bana red line to T-Centralen (about 5 minutes), then walk to the Arlanda Express platform — total journey from hotel door to airport is typically 35–45 minutes. Alternatively, commuter trains on the Upplands pendeltåg are slower (~45 min) but cheaper (~130 SEK for a standard zone ticket). Taxis are widely available but expensive; expect around 600–700 SEK to the airport.
